Personal Care

Personal Care

As people age, because of physical or mental deterioration they become less able to maintain the levels of independence that were once  taken for granted and often need help with their personal care.

Personal care is a broad term used for several tasks to help you maintain your personal hygiene and appearance and is tailored to each individual. Our carers are skilled and adaptable and work directly with you to create a routine that suits you with a service that is tailored to your specific needs.

Even though carers are there to provide all aspects of personal care, there may be some things you’d prefer to do for yourself. A good carer will always give you space when you want it and encourage your independence wherever they can.

Personal care may include:

  • Help with getting up & going to bed. This can also include some night assistance.
  • Help with washing,  bathing & oral hygiene.
  • Hair care & shaving.
  • Toileting.
  • Help and prompting with medication.
  • Help with mobility.
  • Help with eating.
